alight 0 Posted June 28, 2007 a great compositon. From the thumbnail I though it was a look through an airplane window. I like the framing and the sun's reflection. The steel colour contrasts the blue sky and the clouds well. Good exposure for this kind of shot - big dynamic range. Just too bad that the arch wasn't built with the best of intentions, according to what I read. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 29, 2007 This is the sort of thing that I usually do not photograph, or at least do not put on Pnet. I mean everyone and their uncle who owns a camera has photographed this baby, so it is not likely that I can add anything. But I broke my rule on this one. I'm not sure I know what you mean about the circumstances surrounding its inception. Tell me what you were alluding to. I would find that most interesting. All I know is what they told me. bjcarlton 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Oh, man; this is a great image. Maybe it was too easy to make, but it's certainly wonderful to look at. I think you've got the geometry just right. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted June 29, 2007 it would be a long story and I would be repeating what is written in the book "The Biggest Secret" by David Icke. I guess many people would have different opinions about his writings, but I know for a fact that his books score VERY high on the energy (truth) calibration scale, much higher than the Bible, for example. So, yes, I do recommend David Icke's books to everyone who can think. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted June 30, 2007 Geometry??? I'll go along with that statement. Very nice. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted June 30, 2007 Barry and Shawn thanks for commenting and the praise. I know a subject like this has been done so many times by so many people, and that there are so many great images out there. That is why I tend to not want to be involved with this type of image. I do really appreciate your positive expressions. Micheal, I shall try to investigate this information you have provided. Take care. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted July 1, 2007 As you note, the arch probably has been photographed about as many times as the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower. And yet you shot it in a unique way. Your view is creative and dramatic. Its a fine photograph! I hope your odyssey continues to be a treat. I expect a full accounting upon your return. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted July 1, 2007 Thanks so much. You are one of the guys I miss interacting with while away. My computer time is just so limited, that I have all I can do to post a few pics and to reply to comments. I feel selfish because I am going down a one way street, and unable to really have good discussions with the people I really like and respect. But until I get home, that will probably be the way it is. Thanks for keeping tabs on me and for the nice comments. Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted October 7, 2007 I am back from my trip to Northern Canada, and checking your portfolio. Very colorful in subject, with lots of massages. I find this image, I like to comment. It is a well photographed image, and you did a very good job on it. I like the angle, the composition, not a usual view, a dramatic and impressive image. The only thing I would ad to it, if it is my, I would make one click darker, to get the image more dramatic. Best regards; Bela Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted October 7, 2007 Wow, David; I didn't know you went in for that sort of thing. Is that a Nikon practice? (Sorry, Bela. I couldn't resist.) Link to comment
