This is great! Especially viewed larger.

Nice color and texture. Consider cropping

the tail at bottom? Just a thought.

Thanks Gordon and Brad for the comments... in regards to the tail... Yeah, I really wish I had gotten the entire tail in the shot, but as I didn't, I thought it was interesting to leave the tip in the frame, as it did enter right at the corner. Thanks again for the support and input... regards....LJ

Beautiful shot, Lesa. I like reptiles, as seeing them in wildlife is really great. Best regards - Hasan

I viewed the picture LARGER, and the sharpness and detail is amazing! I too use the Canon XTI, and I think it is better than any camera in it`s class. The cmos sensor is a whole level above the ccd sensor used by the other dslr`s. You have a great eye.

Thanks Hasan and Jim for comments. I like ratings, but I value more the written personal words of people who are just as passionate about photography as I am. Jim, the XTi is a GREAT camera, but let me tell you I have upgraded my lenses to the "L" series paired with IS (image stabilization) and that has taken my confidence and image quality up to a whole other level! It was like going from a beat up Volkswagon to top of the line Cadillac. No slur against either vehicle, just a comparison of weight, smoothness, and motor size. Thanks again for the comments....LJ

This is absolutely a lovely macro. The sharpness & colours on the head * 'money bag' portion is gorgeous.

Nice picture, Lesa! Good light, colors, dof. Compositionally, just wish that you had captured the whole tail. Cheers, J

If I had a backyard like yours Lesa I'd never go inside. Thanks for letting us view this remarkable creature in all its glory.

The detail of his sac, face and rib cage are incredible. Have you tried a crop right behind the rib cage?

Hey Lesa! Great minds think alike, huh? I believe this is a green anole. An interesting factoid about these lizards... Brown anoles, like the one in my portfolio, eat the eggs of the green anoles and sometimes run them out of a territory; But if an adult green anole and a brown anole get in a fight, the green almost always wins and kills the brown one. :) KW

Lesa this is really a fantastic shot and the colours are rich and beautiful. Would like to have seen the rest of the tail or maybe remove the tip in the lower right. Great work though!

Real pretty lizard all puffed up like that! Great image! I took a shot of a squirrel very much like this where I missed a portion of his tail - very much like this. Anthony Deffina took it and framed it in such a way that it actually looked like the shot was planned that way. Check out my black squirrel shots in my folder called "4 legged creatures" to see what I mean - he did sucha neat job. I haven't got a clue how he did it but it's pretty cool.
