beepy 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Nude in bowl. I like the shadows on the white paper. Reflections in the bowl. Link to comment
atahack 0 Posted June 24, 2007 UUUUUUU Great... Almost lost of details in the body or the black sculpture...I love it... Link to comment
John Peri 1,029 Posted June 24, 2007 Wonderful tones and colour choice. The beautiful form blends nicely also into the bowl, where the hard texture also serves to accentuate the soft lines of the model. A very pleasing photo, well done. Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Ah, Ruth Bernhard. You might want to clone out the wisp of hair that breaks the line of her neck below her jaw. Link to comment
beepy 0 Posted June 24, 2007 I'll think on the wisp - good catch. Yes, thanks for noticing the reference - I really like Bernhard's series with the steel bowls from the 1930's (I love the story behind the steel bowls - I think I mentioned once on this site going to an Asian furniture shop going out of business and seeing something black and dust covered, hidden by bric-brac under a dining room table - got the bowl cheap). Was always looking for stark contrast with the black, finally picked up an air brush and body makeup to achieve this effect. Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted June 25, 2007 Yeah; I've got one of Bernhard's books that includes the bowl pictures, and keep going back to it for inspiration. This bowl of yours has lots of possibilities. I look forward to seeing your future work with it. Link to comment
