davidmccracken 2 Posted June 23, 2007 If you want to get ahead, get a hat. (So my father always told me.) I have just realised how taken I am with this girl. I have uploaded quite a few photos of her already. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 23, 2007 I like her expression a lot. This is a very nice fashiony-portrait style shot...and I like it that you're sort of experimenting with a white background now. The colors and skin tones are much more realistic than a lot of other work in this genre. Link to comment
glenwoodsherry 0 Posted June 23, 2007 David, I really like this image, and I agree with Jim, the white background works. Wonderful expression; great lighting and tones; right on composition. Very well done. A 7/6 from me. Glenwood Link to comment
jkwiatkowski 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Great... triangles :) (The bag and her left shoulder create geometry of this shot) The oval of the hat adds a touch of... femininity. I love it. Regards, jk Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted June 25, 2007 Ruben, I have to agree. She is! I consider myself very lucky to have had the privelage of photographing her. Jim, Thanks (I think.) I do think the girl is the star here. It is quite a simple shot. I have discovered that keeping things simple makes the photographic process a lot easier. I actually prefer the black background although when I give the models a choice, they do prefer the white one. I will definitely experiment with it some more as I actually quite like this shot myself. Glenwood, Thanks for stopping by. I am glad you like this. Stephen, I agree. She is! Janusz, You seem to like this shot for the very same reasons I do. That does make me happy. Thanks everyone. I am a little disappointed no one picked up on the title but sometimes that's how things go. Link to comment
bodyline 0 Posted June 26, 2007 David, a great shot. You have the background perfectly lit. Stunning model, pose and expression. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted June 26, 2007 BP, I do like this shot myself. I am not 100% sure about the background but I feel it certainly doesn't ruin the shot. I guess I must experiment more. Link to comment
blackdogstudio 1 Posted July 1, 2007 This is very Vouge-esque, David. And those lips... Very well composed. By the way, I love your new self-portrait so much... You seem dazed by all the talent behind you. Very nice work. Regards. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 1, 2007 Thanks a lot Kelvin. It is interesting you use the word 'Vogue.' I have a funny feeling it will not be long before this girl appears on the front of such a magazine. (As for my new self portrait... I don't know what to say.) Link to comment
jim wrightwood 0 Posted January 14, 2008 Just going through your portfolio. I think this is a stunning image. Again I like the capture of detail in her dark hair. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 14, 2008 Thanks again Jim. Perhaps there is a little too much detail in the hair. I should have removed the single hair on the model's left side of her face. (I did for the print actuall!) addendum:- I hope you don't mind that I gave you a mention here. Link to comment
