Thanks Pedro, The rocks and grass (on the right) are overexposed a bit (they both lack the amount of details and texture I would love to have) even though I have used a ND grad filter (I don't remember the strength of the one used). The other think is the use of negative film (should have more latitude than positive) and self-development...

beautifully done. I love the contrast and colors. The blur effect is very nice and the reflection in the pool is a very nice second attraction to keep the eye in the picture. Personally i dont think the rock and grass are overexposed but it would be easy to correct this with a bit of burning. Excellent work Jiri. Regards - michel

Michel, thanks for your kind words. But especially the bright patch of grass on the right and the ground just behind the cliff are overexposed. It's not apparent from this small web-sized version, but as I have looked at the larger scan, they do lack the amount of texture (and tonal differences) that are present in the rest of the photo. And it is not possible to remedy it with local burning - that would only darken the areas, not bring back the tonal differences. I have tried to scan the negative several times, but the information is not on the film itself (my conclusion).

But anyway, it may pass this way, as the overexposed areas are not large and the brain will fill in the necessary info - it's clear what should be there...

Btw., when I showed this photo to my wife, she said that it was really nice. Than she asked whose photo it was, if I can show her some other photos by that author. When I told her it was mine, she at first didn't believe me... (yeah, than she gave me a kiss ;) ) That much for the support of the close-ones...

Good composition and interesting selective lighting on the rocks and grass. Good in-camera work with the filter, I cannot see the boundary. I also do not think the rocks and the grass are visibly overexposed, but of course, I understand your desire to have things perfect. I enjoyed this post very much. Best regards. Peter

Thanks Peter (and you all). I used the Cokin Full version of grad ND, upon which there is no edge, it just gradually darkens the image from none to 3 stops. And I tilted it roughly in the direction of the rocks breaking the calm water...
