pnital 36 Posted June 17, 2007 The play of light and shadows, was a trigger for this one. Thanks for your impression Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 17, 2007 Thanks Milo for taking the time, I'm open to see what others are thinking, sometimes I will accept and sometime not... ;-)) but I wanted it darker than yours, I love the mystery and yours has too much light for my taste and the mystery of the mood is gone . Anyway thanks I do apreciate it. Link to comment

hanna_v 0 Posted June 19, 2007 lights and shadows from another time: 'memory' beautifully done! the lower part could be cropped for my taste:) Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted June 20, 2007 Stunning photo. One of my favorites of yours. It's the shadows that pull me in. I'm not sure why, but this makes me recall the compositions of Toulouse-Lautrec, although your photo is quite different in terms of the grace and spirit. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 20, 2007 Thanks to all of you. Hanna, Nice to see you again, and taking the time, but I like it as is, cropping the lower part is cropping some feeling of the dancing legs. so to my taste is has to stay as it is, but thanks! Jeff, T. Lautrec, is a compliment thanks, I do think we are very different... what connect us maybe is the common subject and love for the dance, but I'm fluttered... thanks for the thought. sky blue 0 Posted June 21, 2007 Beautiful ballerinas; beautiful shadows. I like especially how the shadows appear more clam than their owners. ~Sky Link to comment

jeff.grant 0 Posted June 23, 2007 Pnina, this has a lovely balance of light and shadow, detail and silhouette. It is one of the best of your dance series, IMHO. I fiddled around with cropping it but couldn't improve on what is already there. You have also captured a perfect amount of movement. What ISO, shutter and aperture were you using? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 23, 2007 Thanks to all of you, I appreciate your feedback. Jeff, here is technical details: ISO - 1600. EX. TIME -1/40, F4 FL- 200mm F-4 Ex. bias value- -2. I work always without flash Jeff, using the stage lights.. sometime they are good in colors and sometime I convert them to B/W as I think it it better in that way. Thanks Link to comment
ransford 0 Posted June 23, 2007 Hard to stop looking at this one. Marvelous balance among the four figures, I keep looking from the shadows to the central figure. She has a stately head and a moving body--very effective. The other figure seems to me clearer in the shadow than the dancer--also very effective and a nice balance with the lighted figure. I love this picture!Ransford Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 23, 2007 Wow, just great, Pnina, they look like Balinese shadow puppets. You caught them just right. Link to comment

jeff.grant 0 Posted June 23, 2007 Thanks Pnina, wide open at a 40th certainly produced a great result. I assume that you aren't using AF for this either. Link to comment
