This flower belongs in the alcea genus. Alcea rosea is the latin name for common hollyhock.

An interesting exercise in color and perspective.

While I'm here I feel it's fair to tell you this photo having been on of the few knock-outs - and a favorite one. Very surprising and appealing juxtaposition with those vertical flowers against the row of trees, with softly illuminated surrounding filling the frame. A show stopping eye candy.
