fabster4444 0 Posted June 15, 2007 Simplicity and greatness, freedom and peace. That's how this photo makes me feel. Link to comment
foto zerüi 0 Posted June 15, 2007 You are an artist. This is a fine example of my favourite genre: figure in landscape. [see my Gaia and Solitude series.] The composition is excellent - better than Surrender I. The limited palette works beautifully. It was a good decision to keep the beach and figure in shade. The diffuse light from the bright parts of the sky and sea act like a giant softbox, giving a gentle rim lighting to the figure. Could it be better? two suggestions. First clone out the two ships on the horizon. Second move the figure two metres further away (vector of movement parallel with the tide line). But the existing picture is very pleasing. Congratulations. John Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 15, 2007 It's very spacey, voluminous. There is a lot og harmony but the color balance seems a bit weird in my eyes. Too much yellow, too much cyan, perhaps. Anyway, Good. Link to comment

jonathancharlesphoto 0 Posted June 16, 2007 Beautiful composition and light - as John says, a concept of almost universal appeal. Initially I thought the left should be cropped but I see that it helps to give weight to the sea itself, not just the bright reflection off it. My only minor problem with it is that I feel she should be sharing our appreciation of the scene by gazing at the lovely sunlit clouds on her left rather than straight up at the overcast sky above. Best wishes, Jonathan Link to comment
