Looking at our house, from atop the adjacent 10 acres that no one owns... Our hunk of Okieland...Our house in is the middle of 10 acres, no view of our neighbors..

You did a "solitary photo"!! Excellent - this is beautiful! You have conveyed such vastness with this perspective. WEll done! I would love it if you would comment on my "solitary" in my "warriors" file.

Nice Dennis! Two things I will mention. You've got some spots on this that may be a dirty sensor. More importantly, What the hell is in that field?!!!!! I can't figure it out! May even be best that way because it's held my attention for some time now!

Thanks for doing a "solitary" photo! It is quite good!

It's hard to see all the different tones from this computer, but from what I can see, this has amazing light to dark tones.

Great Drama in the sky, nice peaceful surroundings (makes for nice contrast!)

And great colour! I wish I could see what that is in the middle center foreground... It'll have to wait till I get home.

Welcome to the Warriors Dennis!

Turns "solitary" into "solitude." I love the protected feeling I get, the warmth of the color of the house against the threatening sky, the house being surrounded by the lushness and softness of the trees. The contrasting texture of grass to trees is great, as are the point of light popping from all the wildflowers. The distant perspective adds to the emotional grab of the scene. A photograph that has some ease about it, the drama of the sky being overcome by the warmth I antipicate awaits me inside.

Welcome to the "Warriors" Dennis. I love this shot, makes me feel that calm before the storm, when everything is still and warm and your just waiting for the sky to burst open. I am a little distracted though by the thing in the field, you have to tell, what is it?

thinks he has to follow me every where...but he's so afraid of storms that he's torn between being out with me or running like hell to get inside...

Thanks to all... I loved the quick assignment... Made this ol' gray hair think about shooting something specific. Just got the broadband back up since lightning took out a repeater... I'll be making the rounds...

I love the saturation that comes with cloudy days. I remember those storms from my OSU days, and I recognize that red clay! Great image, this one brings back a lot of memories for me.

I would prefer a crop (and I never say crop) on the left side with the MUTT closer to the left so it isn't in the center where we can see it more clear. It would also bring out those TWO flowers and make it the center of the picture.

I know silly me all the vast part of this WHOLE picture but I'm talking about putting those little flower in front there the little pink and white one as the center and cropping out some of the sky (leaving the white part). Something about bringing the whole picture in and focusing more on those flowers brings the whole picture in some and doesn't distract the eye from looking at to many things.

I love the colors this picture has.

I need to see that red more as it contrasts with that mud and the grey of the sky needs to be cut because the green gets washed out.

The thing I envy the most is I can't take a picture like this nor do I have a field to run in (reminds me of little house on the prairie). You have one great camera!

Great picture, Dennis, especially considering the short notice. The depth and colors are great. With the wide angle, I couldn't decide if you were showing the solitary nature of the dog, or that of the house surrounded by nothing by trees. Maybe it's both. Nice work-- Jason

Oh crap...he's another member of the Idious Moronici Tribe, Jan! Help! ;-p The dreaded IMT are gaining in number.

Dennis, I love the isolation of your home...that much land is wonderful! Although I suppose there are times when being that alone could be frightening. Love the moody sky and the storm wary dog...ours is literally under our feet if the thunder starts to roll. She's a big chicken! :)
