jsalge 0 Posted June 14, 2007 Due to strong wind, I had to keep a fast shutterspeed, and my Depth of Field suffers in this. Thoughts appreciated... Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted June 14, 2007 Jim, I don't think this image suffers at all. It is absolutely beautiful. Wonderful composition, and your exposure has perfectly captured the colors of the lupines, flowers and leaves. I really like the soft orangish glow on the clouds and sky. Very, very well done. It is a fine image! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
anish 0 Posted June 14, 2007 even if the background sharpness suffered a little, i think you made the right aperture/shutter speed choice and ensuring the lupines would be sharp. The arrangement of the flowers in the frame is absolutely perfect. one suggestion: the water near the center of the frame is quite bright, and distracts a little from the main subject. I am guessing (but not sure) from the relative brightness of the water and sky, that you used a split ND filter. I you had one handy, I might have tried to line the filter up at an angle such that the dark half was covering essentially everything except for the flowers. You might've lost a bit of detail in the background foliage, but I would've made that sacrifice in order to tone down the bright water a bit. Alternately, you may be able to use PS to tone down the water. Anish Link to comment
