So, I went back to Slate Hill, and guess what, the light was

different, but still not what I was hoping for. I made some shots,

then crossed the street and shot this. There were wires and cables

all over the place, but I removed them. One went from top left to

top right, bisecting the cross. Another came in from middle and

connected to the building on the right. I also corrected the

perspective because I was shooting uphill. Then I dodged, burned,

erased, adjusted, cajoled, begged, and otherwise manipulated the

clouds. I considered a dramatic halo around the steeple, but

decided against it, which I think was a smart thing to do. I like

the mailboxes in the front. Not half bad, but I'm still trying to

figure out when the sun is full on the face from the right.

Meanwhile, this exposure kept me busy.

Zone System at its best... that's all that comes to my mind at the first viewing...
