Dale M 1 Posted June 13, 2007 The low lighting is very dramatic but the face I think is too friendly for this treatment - it looks to me more deserving of a soft-lit approach. Just my opinion, of course. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 13, 2007 You've captured a wonderful moment here with excellent technique. The lighting is superb. I think his expression is calm, yet questioning and mystifying. I think you have great portraits in your portfolio. They shine and carry much emotion, beauty, and pathos. I would make one general comment. In some cases, here included, the eyes seem a little too sharp and white. As important as eyes are to a portrait, and you certainly capture and convey that, they can remain soft and not stand out quite so much and still be very effective. There is a very fine line between drawing attention to eyes and having them look a bit unnatural. I'd say, you're right about at that line in some instances. Really a very minor point in the overall scheme of a portfolio that shows a connection with people and faces and an ability to translate that to visually appealing works. --Fred Link to comment
do_urden 0 Posted June 13, 2007 I'm really thankfull for your comment. I will remember what should I work on. It's really rare to receive such a wise and long critique. It is proof that people care that you care. Thanks again Link to comment
