johncrosley 0 Posted October 24, 2010 Anders, I was browsing a forum and the new photo section under each forum that features contributing members' photos came up, and I looked at this photo, looked some more, and understood this is a really wonderful photo. You are very strong on composition and architecture, and it has that, but it also has a human element as a complement, and that provides both scale and 'human interest' for what otherwise would be a photo that otherwise would be hard to understand except as an 'abstraction'.This has wonderful geometry and 'abstraction' yet it's a story too, about children, their play and their curiosity. You've developed into one of PN's stars, and rightly so.I think you might consider also desaturating this with care, look at it as a B&W photo and suspect it may be quite viewable that way, also.johnJohn (Crosley) Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted October 26, 2010 Thanks John you make me blush ! Personally I love this small shot which was done through a window from street level and to the floor below. I like, it seems as you, the confrontation between the soft forms of the circle, the stone and the hard squares of the net covering it all - and with a playing child (two in fact) naively placed in the middle of it all. For me also the small triangle below in the middle plays its full role in the composition. You are the first that seem to see something the same line here. I think I have fallen in the trap of asking for ratings showing that this is barely average !! Who cares ...You are right that it could be in B/W and I have it somewhere and have printed only that version in bigger format. Thanks again for your support and your (too) kind comments.
