This is very interesting! One could dispute about the effects degree - maybe more at the ship, or less in the sky?

To be honest with you, there is a purist in me that recoils at an image like this, but my more than one year of active pnet exposure has softened my prudish sensitivities and I can appreciate the creativity that went into this. Can't say it's my favorite of your images, but this site is like a classroom and one can experiment in whichever direction she chooses.

To answers two points raised:

 

Daily, I tried different layers and effects on different parts of the picture. I can't say why I decided on more "fluidity" on the boat and an almost concrete sky, probably I unconsciously wanted more "weight" of the sky

and I had Turner in mind. Thanks again.

Originally this was a --nice boat at sunset-- picture; I have shot dozens, but this made me think of a painting and had to turn it into a painting.

Very effective combination of colours and layers, artistic and beautiful indeed.
