Simplicity that talks Cherlyn. the sand and sky are very nice solid backdrop to the colorful boat. beautiful composition.

Where's the water? ;-)

Very nice, I agree that simple is often the best. Great light and strong composition, interesting image.

Cherlyn, this is a beautiful composition. I particularly like the setting of the boat in what seems to be a desert.

Wonderful colors, wonderful image! Can I follow you around sometime when you are out shooting?

Stunning boat. And why is it in the middle of the desert? Is this a statement regarding the dangers of global warming? What I like about this photo is that you've carefully managed the light around the base of the ship. Lighter to the left, shadow to the right. You've enveloped your subject light and te absence of light. Well done.

Shawn, you are of course welcome to accompany on photo shoots but that means either you come to my country or visit yours or we meet in middle ground :-)I can learn a lot from yoo too.

Jell, this boat was actually sitting on the Salt Lake ( where sand is the uppermost layer). I didn't know why it was placed there either. I am lucky to be there at the right time whereh the light & shadow are just perfect.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging feedback.

Hi Cherlyn, I too, would like to follow you around when you shoot. This boat seems so out of place, and the bright color of the boat contrasting with the pastel of the sky - excellent. My only complaint is the shadow of the mast is cut off on the right... at first I thought it was a line that was tied off to something over there and then realized it was the mast.

A fine image - Richard
