gungajim 75 Posted June 10, 2007 Hi Maria, I just took a look at your four new posts and would like to mention a couple of things that I've finally learned after 27 years of travel photography. You may already be aware of them but I'll mention them anyway. First, I've concluded it is nearly impossible to take good photos in sunny locales during the middle of the day when the sun is high overhead. This is problematic for travel photographers particularly when they are traveling with others or a group because the most natural time to visit tourist sites are the times that are worst for photography. Thus, if I really want a good shot of a particular landscape or building, I try to figure out a way to visit early in the morning or late in the day. Second, I swore years ago I would never lug a tripod with me on my travels. Finally, I gave it try three years ago and discovered it made a huge difference in the quality of my shots. Thus, I take one on every trip although there are always a few days when I leave it in the hotel just because I can't bear the thought of carrying it all day. You've certainly been to some of the nicest spots in Europe. I encourage you to keep traveling every time the opportunity avails itself! Jim Link to comment
maria 7 Posted June 12, 2007 Many thanks for your very kind and long comment! It took a time to be able to answer, because re-submitted photos were not accessible to the author. I find that photos taken in the evening are not so good - long shadows for example - I have some of Milanese Novecento in my presentation. What do you think? kind regards Maria Link to comment
