dennis jones 0 Posted June 4, 2007 Now this is good.... When I get to the house this evening, I'll take a better look at this... On my laptop, this seems to lack a little contrast... Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 4, 2007 Let me know, Dennis. I was trying to make sure the white clouds didn't get blown out and this was the maximum I could go without that happening. This will be one of our entries for sure. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 5, 2007 Comments welcome, especially on contrast level. Thanks! Link to comment
shadow-island 0 Posted June 5, 2007 Long time no see! See we posted next to each other tonight...at first glance I thought the image was ok...but after looking closer it doses appear to be a tad grainy. I like the capture alot. Hope you can sharpen the detail alittle more. Michael. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 5, 2007 Hmmm...I'm not seeing grain in this one at all. It was shot at ISO 250, so shouldn't be grainy. Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted June 6, 2007 The larger version is pretty clean of grain. The snail is a bit soft focused. The clouds are fine. Do you sharpen any at all? By sharpening I mean either using a High Pass Filter? Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted June 6, 2007 Here is a link on High Pass Filters (HPF) I hope you don't mind, but here's Headstand with a HPF layer added. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 6, 2007 I love these snail photos! It looks like you've been having a lot of fun with this contest...we all await the final results! I've been looking through your last few images that I'd missed...what's going on with your stepfather and mom? I'll be praying for you and your family, too. I was blessed to live next door to my grandfather and father when they needed lots of care. I can't imagine how hard it would be to be 3000 miles away...it's wonderful that you could spend some time with them and help so much! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 6, 2007 My stepfather is still hanging in there, although they have upped all of his medication. After being given 2 weeks to live about 7 weeks ago, he's still around. I guess his will to live is stronger than his body shutting down at the moment. It's very hard on Mom, watching and waiting for him to die, but he's home where he wants to be. As long as he gets any enjoyment from living, he's going to fight until the end. I talk to Mom almost every day and it was a big help to her (and me) that I was there for a second time. Dennis, that really makes it pop! I can only do minor adjustments for the contest, but can probably add a little contrast and stay legal. Link to comment
fotodaniella 0 Posted June 6, 2007 Wonderful and unique capture pose :) I like what Dennis add to the photo, really looks better when a little contrast is added! Link to comment
