mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 31, 2007 The way the shape of the little hill forms the framig of the picture while the little cactus tree thing (I know no names of things) is perfect to the side. It is just a wonderful picture. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted June 1, 2007 Very nice landscape image with the perfect use of toning to create a pleasing composition, the earth colors are so appropriate for the desert. Where is this area? I'm a big desert fan and was just down in the Four Corners area in March. Link to comment

joe-tury 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Great work with the bw conversion. Perfect spot for the composition too. This is one of those simple element ideas we both enjoy that can tell a complex story.I like it! Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted September 24, 2007 Doug, this is an excellent composition, and really does a great job of depicting the Chihuahuan Desert, as several of your other shots do. The 'cactus' is actually a yucca plant, probably the Spanish Dagger (closely related to the Joshua trees of the mojave Desert). Typically, the dominant plant species in the Chihuahuan Desert are the yuccas, creosote bush, prickly pear cactus, and staghorn cholla. Very nice work! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted September 25, 2007 Thanks,Joe. Glad you enjoyed this. Chris. Thanks for the info. I thought it was Yucca but wasn't positive. I found some Creosote bush back on a 4WD trail in Joshua Tree but have yet to find it anywhere else. I thought it was fascinating.I envy you your photo ops.I guess it's obvious, I too love the beauty and mystery of the desert southwest. Really enjoyed your portfolio. Will be back for a more thorough viewing. Link to comment
