I worked on one of my favorite pictures of my grandparents. It was pretty much wrinkled and messed up and I wanted to restore it.

It was a picture of them before they got married while they were dating in 1934.

Thank you for looking. Please comment and critique.

These are really fabulous, can I retire and come help you??? Would never know that the picture was in such bad shape before you started.

Hi Micki,

Great Job on this one you really do outstanding work, in reply to your question on my restorations, I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 The thing that I think is the most important is getting a very high quality deep scan of the photo in color. The more pixels the better, It?s kind of a trade off though due to slowing down your system but you get a much larger photo to work with which exaggerates the defects and blemishes then I use the dust filter and clone at almost the pixel level. When I'm done I go to the Image, Resize, Scale and reduce the size of the photo which seems to sharpen the photo back up for printing.

I wasn't sure. I was dusting the picture and then trying to go backwords but I wasn't sure if that was right.

I wasn't sure how to SCAN the picture correctly and it took me forever to figure out the correct way to scan the older pictures. They don't take to being scanned like other stuff does. They pick up all kind of odds and ends.

I will say this.

CLEAN your scanner first ~ HA!! lol

Just a little trick. kind of like cleaning your camera lense. ;)

Micki,

Could you tell me your technique in making up your collage? I would like to give it a try.
