bosshogg 4 Posted May 29, 2007 Ah, what mother would not be bursting with pride with such a display of matriarchal affection from her little delinquent? Link to comment
alibek 0 Posted May 29, 2007 it would be something - wherever you see it, under whatever circumstances that little-gigantic piece of art was made. Aside from great message I can see up there, environment plays almost a sarcastic... merely satirical role in that picture. Very original -- wish I could've seen it. 'Wish my mother could've seen it. Who knows... great places're always next to us! Best regards, Alibek Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted May 29, 2007 Thank you for looking and for commenting. While you did not get to see it in person, you at least saw it through my eyes, and it was my honor to provide it to you. Since this was a trashed old building, I suppose it is a bit less offensive to see graffiti on it, but I find all graffiti to be quite offensive, because it undermines the premise of private property and respect. It truly is difficult to imagine that any mother would be happy to receive the message using this medium. Cheers. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 29, 2007 Wow, David, that's quite a structure. it almost looks like an optical illusion or something that happened to drop in from another dimension. Love the door. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted May 30, 2007 This is an impressive image. I had to view it larger to get a good look at the building. Nice work, and I think Hallmark will be knocking at your door come next Mother's Day. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted May 30, 2007 Thanks. Yeah, I'm thinking of starting a company. Working name so far, "Ditch Bank Okie Greeting Cards." This is my first edition. Care to invest? LOL Link to comment
alight 0 Posted May 30, 2007 this actually would be a good mother's day card, evoking a warm feeling. Imagine - in all the desolation there is still place for love - for expressing it. Not only that, the guy who "wrote" this was certainly emotionally motivated. It would take a few minutes to write this message on a card; it had to take a good hour to create this masterpiece. Also, the dude's vision must be expanded, as he used a colour in his message. Who knows - maybe his mother passes by daily on her way to the market. This message could certainly be viewed from a mile away. And, Dave, think about this: if the dude's mother's day card is this big, how big was the bouquet?! I say: paint all ruins with loving messages! Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted May 31, 2007 You are such a positive spin meister. How bout the guy is just a gangbanger that has an oedipal complex? But really, it is wrong to expropriate anyone's personal property and alter or destroy it or convert it for your use, without their permission. I'm very anti tagging. It just shows so much disrespect. Even when it is funny or artsy. My suggestion about a card was meant to be satirical in that the mothers who raise such sociopaths are likely to not get the irony of such a card. Keep on drinking that V8 and giving the world a positive outlook. I suppose we need more optimism in the face of such overwhelming evidence that things are not going well for planet earth. alight 0 Posted May 31, 2007 I agree with you about graffiti. As you most certainly know, I meant my comments as a joke. Though I don't share your pessimism about the state of the world. Yes, there is plenty of crap. However, there is even more good stuff. It's just that the media is not showing you the good stuff, so you - everyone - is continuously bombarded with negative messages. I know for certain, that the positive energy of the whole world has been increasing. This can be easily and repeatedly verified with Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET), which is reliable. That's why I don't watch TV, listen to the radio, read the papers/ news magazines. So far, their job has been to supress positive energy and to spread as much crap as possible, to keep people depressed, supressed, angry, fearful, hateful. Such people can be very easily manipulated by the politicans. The proof of this is everywhere, especially in the U.S. where the magnitude of this mind control is among the strongest. Dave, you can see that even with your Self - your pessimism. Pessimism can create negative thoughts. Negative thoughts produce negative energy that only aids the crap in the world, and not only that: it's scientifically proven that negative thoughts make the body create neuro-toxins that poison the nervous system. Is it worthy? Isn't it better to think in positive ways (and mean it) and thus create healing energy and help the nervous system/body in a positive way? This doesn't mean being high on a cloud and saying there are no wars (when there are) and there is no corruption (when there is), etc. It does mean seeing and acknowledging the good there is (and there is more good than bad, otherwise we'd self-destruct by now), seeing/intending it to expand and strengthen, projecting a positive attitude, and wishing the corrupt dudes to heal. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
radioactive 0 Posted June 6, 2007 David, one thing can certainly be said. Your shots provoke and evoke so much thought. The simplest captures, have the deepest meanings for so many different people. I have recently moved into a new apartment (swinging bachelor pad) so I have been away for a few weeks. But as soon as I got back on line I came to check your new work. As always, I keep coming back for more. Way to go Boss.this is a great shot by the way. Its does say so much. Link to comment
