Not a typical flag-waving photo, but a real one. Each face offers something different. But what really gets me is the loving look on the woman as she reaches in with an appreciative. Thanks for a great reminder that Memorial Day is a day to remember the complexities, the lofty goals, the realities, and the individual aftermaths of war and service.

Powerful composition! The principal part of the information (heads, glances and wheelchair) is around the very strong line: bottom left - up right.

 

Can I make a suggestion? The image would be better if you could make a little cropping to eliminate some useless and disturbing elements.(see attachment).

 

I think this photo is one of the best of your portfolio. I don't know very well about this type of ceremony, but I find that the emotional tension released by this photo transcends any cultural difference. Your aim is reached: "...we are all a lot the same..." you said. Bye, Alx
