In honor of those all across the country, the world who fight for

freedom. Today is a day to remember and not forget all who died.

ALL everywhere. I was lucky. My dad came home. Hate the politics

not the soldiers. ~ pray for peace

Paul, I was doing it for my father for Memorial day (I do not really talk to him much as he left my mother when I was 18). I just felt the need to send him something when my son was looking for my Godfather on the miniwall here in Pensacola. I don't try to be politcal at all (as my father didn't). You do the job (my huband is in the Navy) you do it well and you follow the orders. That is it. I believe we as a nation and as a world owe it to ALL the soldiers on all sides of the past to join together in giving them gratitude for doing thier job. I lived in Japan and met many people their and learned great lessons.

Thank you for your kind words. I hope all understand my jesture is one of high regard to all! :) ~ micki

You did a very good job. Do you have the one of you Godfather holding you after the Christening? The pictures and collage are good. You did a good job with them.

This is what I can do. I have been working on the photo taking but I needed to get back to what I needed to get done. I have about to whole BIG boxes of pictures I need to format and get put together like this of over a 100 year old photo's of my great great grandparents on up. I need to work on them and get them put together and in order and do these things with them for my kids and nieces and nephew and the my future grandkids.

I want to intertwine them with pictures I take like this one. I have thought about calling it "my moments in time". So, look for more as I have plenty to share of many family members.

This is just great gift for him, especially on the time of the memorial day! Also the background story is touching and interesting.

Micki, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the lyrics of the song and also for the comment! The lyrics hit the spot. I must read them more carefully and think about them... :-) So, your`s and Torfinn`s inspiration has led me doing several new "tone simplifications" and I enjoy them a lot! You, on the other hand, are in the process of moving towards the restoration of the memories. What a wonderful (and sometimes also burdening) task to do. I guess that many of us, Photonetters, are on the process of evolution in our photoart-process... :-D We keep the valuable parts on our photobag and try to find new ways of delivering the atmosphere around us.

I won't have as much time to spend with PN because of my kids (my teens) being home and I need to spend time with them. I have made it a goal to go through all the pictures and take pictures of them (my kids) also in various ways.

This will be something I can meld together somehow.

As you can see I look alot like my dad so I look forward to intertwining all my family together in pictures.

Moving forward is what I think PN is about.

After seeing the WRATH that just went on at PN I think maybe getting back to WHY we take pictures in the first place might be more important to some of us anyway.

The moments of a generation.

I'll keep working on my ART and my skill as a photographer (like the picture of my son). BUT I need to work on some OLD 1880 pictures of restoration.

Moments of time in photographer that I have are just important. The landscapes will fade from my memories.

Your pictures of those camels and horses will not ` lol :) ~ he he

Beautifully executed and very heartfelt tribute. The images are so appropriate and moving, especially having your son like that being the centerpiece. I think it says a lot about hope, which is sometimes so hard to have when remembering and/or experiencing tragedy. He looks so innocent there, softly and gently touching the names of the dead. And then, the young man of a different generation looking over his shoulder and the older man in a later time gazing on as well. And the soldiers and the ribbon, the flowers. This is a sensitve and wonderful collage. It's really quite moving and should make every soldier and every citizen stop and think and stop and feel. Would that we human beings did more of each! --Fred

P.S. As an aside, I am giving you high ratings not just for the sentiment (although that alone is worth it), but for your creativity and artistry as well as technical skills with which you put this together.

I plan to do more as these are memories I want to share with my kids and grandkids. Sharing this one with my dad will hopefully make him happy. WELL, honored.

By now I do hate the war the way is going and feel vary sad every time I read in the paper of how many more soldiers have to died.

Admire and salute all American soldiers for their great sacrifice in the name of freedom.
