Footprints in the evening.

I stood over the footprints and snapped the photo. B/W conversion was simply PS's Mode->Grayscale, since the original image was essentially monochrome brown. There is some dodging and burning-in to control the local contrast in various areas, and a bit of locally applied "de-hazing" USM to help bring out details in some of the shadow areas, but for the most part the processing is not dramatic.

I haven't done a lot of B/W in the past many years, but when I saw

this pair of footsteps dried in the mud I knew it would look good in

B/W. I'm curious about what people think of my choice of contrast:

too much? too little? Are the shadows too blocked up? Are the

highlights too blown out, or not bright enough?

I would like the light and shadows to be a bit more smooth. Grat idea und impressive pic.
