bartimeus1 0 Posted May 26, 2007 Melancholy through the associations? Or just a plain snapshot? I wouldbe interested to hear your thoughts about this one. Thank you! Link to comment
turkoglu70 0 Posted May 26, 2007 Alpo some may not like it but it is impressively depressive. I loved it. Best Regards. Link to comment
alexander ziegler 0 Posted May 26, 2007 melancholy is not depression; and to me the picture is neither of it. it is too much about structures and light. good composition and fine use of contrast. I think one should not transfer personal feelings connected with taking and making a picture into the picture too much. Link to comment
tahoe tana 0 Posted May 26, 2007 I don't think it is depressive. It's more ghostly to me, especially since the tree in the upper left is a little fuzzy. I like it. It is creative and interesting - otherwise I would not have taken the time to stop by and make a comment. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
fergi 0 Posted May 26, 2007 Edgar Allen Poe meets Claude Monet (with a camera). Not depressing to me, actually, this is a very inspiring photoessay. Allow me to fill in the blanks. The lack of color is effective as it places the responsibility for filling in the colors to the viewer. I see this as a rift between the waning Winter and the waxing Spring. The trees are still bereft of leaves and forlorn looking, hoping to be filled by the end of the coming season. Whereas the field is in full bloom, a precursor to a new season filled with hope and possibilities. Not all of the plants have flowered, some may never flower. This is the chance that nature takes. The colors of the flowers is irrelevant. I see them as yellow, a pure and unblemished color, though some may see reds or blues. No matter, there is color, if only on the surface. The true beauty is not in the flower, but in the promise contained therein. The hope that the pollen may be carried to another by a wayward bee, or that a child may stop and pick a bunch to give to his mother. Or that someone truly depressed and barely hanging on to the spark that is our hope for tomorrow chances by this field and is inspired by the setting; the knowledge that something bigger than us made this possible and that they are not alone. There is hope. But that is only what I see. I may be off the mark. Consider this one of my favorites. Period. fergi Link to comment

mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 28, 2007 Do you know where you?re going to? Do you like the things that life is showing youWhere are you going to? Do you know...? Do you getWhat you?re hoping forWhen you look behind youThere?s no open doorWhat are you hoping for? Do you know...? Once we were standing still in timeChasing the fantasiesThat filled our mindsYou knew how I loved youBut my spirit was freeLaughin? at the questionsThat you once asked of meDo you know where you?re going to? Now looking back at all we?ve plannedWe let so many dreamsJust slip through our handsWhy must we wait so longBefore we?ll seeHow sad the answersTo those questions can beDo you know where you?re going to? It is wonderful and I feel like I am just looking through that door just hoping to find what I am looking for and looking at that wind go through the weeds watching the branches move a bit over my head.
