the frame in this case really helps the photo. Also, nice how the eye gets drawn right up the walkway. well done

As above, you are drawn into this image the colours and composition work well for me. The use of a wide angle low to the ground make this a super image that is a pleasure to view. Very Well done. Rich.

If my edges were distracting what to say about this huge framing kind of decoration?!

And come back to rate my picture or at list to see what average it has so far achieved! Ha!

Cheers to that!

Sorry Mr Bliss, I have made a mistake, your comment was very encouraging for my creative efforts! That about the cropping was the other guy's comment!

And it is my duty to comment this picture: The motive itself is extraordinary, the angle of shooting must have been the standard one, I agree with my friend Richard here about the colors, but the blurring especially expressed and visible in the upper part looks somehow unsuccessful! To be precise - as an not exactly most appropriate painting effect!

Cheers to that too!

What a surprise for you:

PDE again!

It is an honor to have the great Pierre Dumas comment on my photograph. Admittedly, I am not sure I understand your comment, but I am happy to hear it nonetheless. I wish you the best in your never ending battle against the "googy drys." Dan

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.

Richard, as you noted, the camera was relatively low, a little over 1/2 a meter off the ground. The cameral was on a tripod, and I used hyperfocal focusing.

Because Pierre brought up processing, aside from cleaning up a few "flaws", it was mostly increasing contrast and dodging and burning to keep areas from going dark or blowing out. I did not use any blurring, although I did use a little sharpening. The color is not too far from "real," although increasing the contrast does tend to increase the saturation. I did have to color correct the walkway a bit because it looked very blue, which my eye didn't see when I took the photo. I wonder if that is an effect of the camera's auto white balance trying to compensate for the very warm tones in the walls. I don't know.

Once again, thank you for your comments. They are greatly appreciated. Dan

Dan, This is just wonderful! I love that you got down low to see this and the blue really caught my eye in contrast to the warm wall colors. I'd hang this on my wall...definitely.

I am not a fan of street photography because it is so easy to do something boring and trivial. Your great composition skills eliminate this risk. That shutter is the secret in this picture, it almost looks like you spent time placing it in the right position (did you...?) and gives a sort of impulse to the whole thing. Color matching is perfect, I love the bluish of the stones.

7/6 (6 just because I'm not a fan of street photography as I said)

Joaquin, Antonio, Leo, and PNF, thank you very much for your comments. They are greatly appreciated. Antonio, the shutter was that way when I got there (and I'll take as many 7/6's as you want to hand out :-) ). Thank you again. Dan
