Sage7 1 Posted May 25, 2007 I love everything about this photo. I think that it's appealing to the eye from top to bottom... The only problem that I have is that it's so long I can't take it all in at once. However, upon further inspection, I love it. Thanks for sharing. Joe. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that it is too tall to fit on your screen. Photo.net scales the images so that they aren't too big, but I am not sure they make the best choice for tall narrow images. In any case, I am glad that you like it. However, I guess not everyone does. It only took a couple minutes to get a 3/3??? Go figure. Thank you again for your comments, Dan Link to comment
jannabin 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Wonderfull perspective and composition. Looks just like a pencil drawing. I love this image. Well done!! Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Thank you very much for your comment Janna. I know that value of a photograph is not dependent upon how difficult it is to get it right. Some of the worlds best photos were just shot and printed. However, this one was a real pain. The lighting is a bit difficult, so I must of reworked it a dozen time, playing with the contrast and dodging and burning, before I put it up on P.N. ...And we do this for fun...??? :-) Link to comment
dcardoso 0 Posted June 20, 2007 I really like what you did here. It's saturated, but not too much, and has a nice gritty old feel to it. The narrow crop works for me too. My only crit is the lower right seems a bit harsh. Well done Dan. Cheers. Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted July 31, 2007 Hi, Dan! Not sure how I missed this one, but I saw it in No Words today and had to comment. I love this lens you're using! You're getting some spectacular images with it. I'd love to see the original...you mentioned that you put a lot of post work into it...whatever you did is certainly worth it. I agree that the bottom right is a bit hot, but not so much as to take away from the rest of the shot. Have you printed this one yet? What dimensions did you print it at? Bet this looks fabulous on the photo rag. I also wanted to mention that this is almost two or three shots in one for me...the bottom door seems like an exterior door and is warmly lit and inviting you in from the cold...whereas the upper door and the domed ceiling are much more formal and seem to be interior. Where is this? What's the story? I could look at this for a long time...the details are incredible. Nicely done once again, Dan! You are getting so good at this! :) Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted August 1, 2007 Leslie, thank you for your all too kind comments. They are appreciated greatly. It was shot in part of the royal palace in Stockholm. Dan Link to comment
