Sun sink Nairn

ian cameron

By Nairn, Highlands, Scotland. This is only the second occasion I have seen this effect. The orb of the sun has dropped into the cool dense mist of the sea haar forming over the coast of the Moray Firth turning it a fiery orange colour which subsequently turned blood red. I opted to compose this in a vertical composition with the majority of the view taken up by the orange coloured sky and trees centrally placed. I hope that this might be selected for a strong graphic front cover shot in a glossy magazine. Pentax 67 II ,200mm lens,Fujichrome Velvia F11 at 1/4 sec, 0.9ND grad filter to hold contrast levels. Please check out the New Photographic Holidays on at TRANSIENT LIGHT.
