john_cowan1 0 Posted May 24, 2007 This is a simply amazing shot! The detale is beyond believeable. White is the worst color for detale, but you have pulled so much out in this shot that I am just in awe. Thank you so much for sharing! Link to comment
leroy laverman 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Lovely shot - very artistic. Would love to know your tricks for selecting the fine feather details when darkening the background. Link to comment
andrewcampbell 1 Posted May 24, 2007 Beautiful composition. Top of the bird is slightly overblown, and the edges seem a bit too sharp. Just my opinion. Cheers! Link to comment
tranhuy 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Thank you all very much for spending time viewing, rating and leaving such nice words on this photo. I really appreciate all.@ LeroyFor this photo, I don't think I'd be able to select the details when darken the background. The original shot has a fairly dark background already, so I just use level to darken more (background).@ Andrew,I think you are right. The larger/.tif version might not have these problems (but I'll re-check anyway). Thanks for your opinion. Link to comment

alvinyap 1 Posted October 8, 2009 Ignoring the blown highlights, I am wondering about the saturation of the beak, it seems slightly over saturated. And I'm a fan of over saturating my images :) Also, the head is cooler than the warm body, I wonder how the image would look like if they were balanced, or even toned black and white. It does give a color contrast between the two elements though. That's a good shot, wish I could get something like that! Alvin Link to comment
