anthonyd 0 Posted May 23, 2007 This is both a physical and mental portrait. Very difficult to stop looking at. Like Lannie, I wonder who this is because she's on your bio. ~Anthony Link to comment
tanyatruong 0 Posted May 24, 2007 for taking your time to follow my work. It's really hard to photograph someone whose life changes drastically with a diagnosis; yet, someone who has such an amazing, lifting spirit for life. It's hard for me because i am emotionally attached to the subject. She's one of my closest friends who introduced me to photography and PN. Please check out www.photo.net/photos/tilly for more of her beautiful work. Warmly, Tanya. Link to comment
neilpeters 0 Posted June 20, 2007 This is so powerful it brings a tear to my eye, but it's a tear of joy. Even with the circumstances, an image like this can only be made in the deepest love of understanding and sharing, from both sides of the lens. It is your tears Tanya, which have cleaned this lens, and shown truth. Link to comment
tanyatruong 0 Posted June 21, 2007 for your frequent visit. There are heroes in our real life, and Jade is definitely A HEROES to me. Her courage to fight the disease and her will to keep smiling have moved my heart every single day. I come to admire and cherish her in so many, many ways. Hope my tears would help to sooth her pain. Warmly, Tanya. Link to comment

tanyatruong 0 Posted September 11, 2008 Jade passed away in peace 2 weeks ago. I made a poem on that day, and i was very honored to be asked by her husband to give a speech at Jade's Memorial Service. I used this poem as part of my speech that i would like to share with all of you as a healing process for me. On behalf of Jade- who has been the most caring friend, a great mentor, and my kindred spirit, i would like to invite you to view Jade photography at: www.photo.net/photos/tilly Jade my closest friend passed away .... this morning. after 18 months of brave battle with thymoma, a rare cancer. ......... At time, she did ask "Why me?!!!" Most of the time, She accepted life for whatever it has offered with courage and youthful spirit. .......... Many times, she has told me Tanya! When i died be cheerful. I've lived a fulfilled life. I want you to celebrate my life, and live a passionate life like you have always been. ........... Through Jade passion, i find my passion in photography. Life is about capturing and making those beautiful moments. ........... Tears keep dropping but i know I will cherish life even more with the fondest memories of Jade in my heart. A poem for Jade - the best of friend, a great mentor, a big sister...and my kindred spirit. yann1 0 Posted September 30, 2008 I'm so sorry. Jade N'guyen was one of the first person I put on my interesting people list; I really love the way she composed, and tried to learn from her. A great photographer that I'll remember. Tanya, did you contact anybody in Photo.net to tell the terrible news ? I wish her portfolio could remain here on Photo.net. I didn't see anything in the forum. I just found it out looking at your photos. ...Sad... My warm regards. Yann Roffiaen. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted December 7, 2008 Without the powerful story I was attracted to the image from the thumbnail. I can identify strongly with the image and the story since I am a cancer survivor - with my current remission, it gave me focus and a major element for me was to do more photography with a passion. I am not as good as the best photographers here at PN but I do what I can and intend to improve. May she rest in peace. Link to comment
