Going Flying

Nice light/composition August. But a P&S? Say it aint so!

Too much tarmac in the foreground for me, but a nice shot otherwise.

Dan, I brought the P&S along mainly to serve as a light meter for my Mamiya but also grabbed a few shots with it (okay, 515 shots). I was impressed by the performance of the camera, especially on ground-to-air. I'll post a few more pics from it and you'll see what I mean. But when my medium format film is developed in a couple of weeks, you'll see the really good stuff. I hope.

 

Alex, I agree about the tarmac and for that reason, when it comes to airplane pictures, I really don't like the 4x3 aspect ratio that these digitals have. I think in the future I'm going to crop down to the 3x2 that I'm more comfortable with from film.

Nicely lit clean shot, August, look forward to the 'proper' pics from the steam-driven kit later on! Echo Alex's comments re the tarmac, incidentally I hate him for getting the Canberra pics. Regards, Pat.
