very nice lines of light and shadow. i see you put a heavier black frame on this one. as your comments to me have always been some of the most thoughtful i've received, i feel i must be honest with you and critique a little. the frame doesn't make up for a bit of what i perceive as flatness in the image. when i squint and create more contrast this becomes extra-ordinary. i would carefully add some more density into the deeper shadows without losing too much mid-tone. i think that would make the white tree trunks more pronounced and enhance the very nice bands of light. you are most talented, but sometimes its difficult to be objective about one's work. with warmest regards, J.K.

J.K. I bow my head in front of your honest critique! I value your opinion really higly and hope to learn, both from your and the others comments. I will try the editings you suggested, but as english is not my native, I am not totally sure what you wanted to suggest. Should I edit the levels of the dark area and then remove the thick black borders? I will have to read your comment more carefully. :-)

It is SOOOOO hard to FEEL I picture on a white background sometimes. I hate it beccause this one gets washed out on the white background if you don't have the black background to go by.

 

I really do like what you have done with it :)
