Not too shabby amigo. It is rather tough to shoot the fighters any time, tougher to keep them off your tail if you are an enemy. I'm partial to the Blues, but the T-Birds were my first, so I give you high marks for posting these. Next time you come to PCola and the Blues are in town, I will take you to a morning practice and you can shoot them from 1000 yards.

All the best,

fergi

Thank you, Fergi I am all Blue too, my ex-son-in-law just went back to the fleet from being in the Blues for the three year thing, he has been back in the fleet for about a year now and is out for the 6 month thing away from home. My kid is out now they were devoiced about two years ago she was in Pensacola in the Navy there for two or three years about one year ago, you may know her Kendra Kisamore? Her husband was Nathan Kisamore crew chef for good old Blue number two. But yes I would love to see the Blues over the city of Pensacola before they move them off the base and close down the place. Anyway, a pic of yours truly in a hanger somewhere in a town called Pensacola lol. And yes it is rather tough to shoot the fighters and yes with a camera too lol. Take care and thanks for your comments, let me know when to be there and I will be on my way.

Thanks Ruud this guys are hard to shoot, the F-16 that the USAF Thunderbirds fly and the F-18 the Navy Blue Angles fly are fast and well if you are not having to think about clouds it is the light and the angle of the sun and the haze from the afternoon and on and on lol but it is fun to watch a show

Un question, they are going to close down the Pensacola base? Guess that gives me more incentive to go up there as well and do some shooting; im only a few hours away.

Nice photo Ken, good composition/timing with the clouds.

edit: my arent we all up late tonight...

Thanks Dan I do not know anything about a base closing down it just was the talk back then but I cannot think they would close it with all that is there on that base. I have always thought of it as The Peoples Navy Base but that is just my thought lol Happy shooting everyone, Ken

Dan and Ken,

No plans to close NAS Pensacola right now. The Naval Aviation Museum is located there and that is a huge public draw. Also, they are the hosts of the Blue Angels, so that keeps them grounded to Pensacola, the Cradle of Naval Aviation. However, Officer Candidate School on the base is closing and moving to Rhode Island in September. End of an era for those of us that went through that institution.

Anyway, love watching these guys fly and am even more impressed right now with the T-Birds as they did a fly over of NAS Pensacola in honor of LCDR Davis, Nr 6 who was killed last month. Professionals all of them.
