awhitt99 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Wonder DOF, perfect lighting, dramatic contrast of purple and green. A very lovely image. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Love the colors and the DOF. I was viewing this the other day and noticed the blue lines around the pink part of the flower. You pointed this 'halo' effect out to me on one of my photos. Since then I have been acutely aware of this happening on my photos and on others. I have not found an answer to why it happens yet. As on my flowers, I do not mind the effect, I do not mind it on this shot of yours. In fact, I quite like it. Missy has some gorgeous flowers and you do a great job of photographing them. I hope this one is hanging somewhere in your home. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted May 19, 2007 Thanks Maggie and great eye.I was attempting to create a soft look with only the near center area having some soft focus but sharper than everything else. The back pedals are OOF, they are somewhat blurred due to the f/2.8. I wanted to draw in some of the background green. How I achieved that was by going to UM and increase pixels but use a very low percentage. My goal wasn't to sharpen the image. So, just remember that for Chromatic aberration, it's red/cyan or blue/yellow. A basic halo, like here is from out of focus and color brought into that blurred area by some means. People that over sharpen an image can create a halo effect. It can also be created in LightRoom with too much fill light.F/2.8 in macro mode gets out of focus quickly. Link to comment
