I feel I can reach out and touch the nose cone. Congrats on an excellent picture and a very good crop. Shot on film too with my favorite camera also.Best regards.

Thanks Dimitris. I too said the same thing when the scan first loaded. It almost has a 3d look to it i think. The A1 is a neat little camera, its been a lot of fun using it.

Hi Dan!

When this image first loaded, I got poked in the eye by the plane's nose. I put an ice pack on my eye and came back to review the image. Seriously, though, I gotta tell you, this is most definitely a "wow" shot! The orange glow of a low sun versus the blue of the sky creates an interesting dichotomy: "warmth" suggested by the color, and "cold" suggested by the metal warplane. Needless to say, the viewing angle makes its form stand out against an otherwise flat environment. Even the clouds are striated in a direction that reinforces the perspective. Although the wing has been virtually eliminated, I catch myself wondering what the image would look like if it were to include the wing in its entirety. That said, my bet is on "not as good".

I think you've done a fantastic job with this one. If it hasn't been printed to 20x30 and adorning someone's wall, my question is "Why not?"

Great job, Dan. Looking forward to seeing more.

Darin, thanks again for a thorough critique. I will dig around in the computer and see if i cant find an angle like the one you've suggested; i probably have it (though probably on digital, and frankly, it doesnt look as good here).

As for a 20X30 print? No, but it is on the short list. I dont think this will hold up well to enlargement though, being shot on Sensia 100, i'm not sure how much it could handle. 12X16 might be the max.
