or a picnic table? Dave, I feel like laughing when I see these civics and other little cars with spoilers, ground effects, and special mufflers that sound like a wanna-be sports cars. When they try to accelerate hard one can hear them far away, yet when you actually see how slowly they are gathering speed it's humorous. Compare it to real sports cars, like BMWs, that are fairly quiet and can peel the asphalt.

It's true that sometimes the spoilers can look good, though this one pictured here is not the case.

Dave, do you carry your cam everywhere you go? Cheers, Micheal

Yeah, I love this one where the spoiler is bigger than the car. I do take my camera with me in the car most of the time, but the truth of the matter is that I am very self conscious about shooting in public. It drives me nuts if anyone sees me shooting. In this particular case, I was stopped at the light, and reached to the back seat, grabbed the old D200 and snap snap. That simple, and nobody (except my four year old granddaughter who was in the passenger seat) ever knew the deed had been done. I function best when I'm incognito.

that would be a great place for some solar panels! i know what you mean about not wanting to be seen shooting. i'm the same way. i'm okay in places like new orleans where there are lots of tourists anyway, but i'm very self conscious most of the time.

I got scared for a minute, I thought you were driving and shooting at the same time. Great capture. We can be such an ironic species sometimes.

Fred, did you say "moronic" species? Just kidding. Linda, I love your idea of solar panels. Now that would make that spoiler functional. I wonder if there is enough production capability to operate the boom box.

yes the spoiler is kind of ridiculous....a funny shot David....I like also (not for ecology reason but for humour ones) the puff of smoke at the exhaust like if the post-combustion has been engaged...

Thanks. Yeah I like the idea of the puff of smoke as a result of the afterburner kicking in.

I believe, this monstrous spoiler is for the reason, the guy find his car more easily in a shopping-mail parking lot. The pure Honda all ready coughing unburned gasoline or oil, and never going to fly. Except, to the scrap yard. The spoiler color nicely matching the print color on the  license-plate. Almost. You are great, David.

Cheers.
