Much appreciated _ it was mostly luck - the sun peaking out of the clouds disappeared in less than a minute - I have a 2nd shot of that scene somewhere but it does not have the same impact as this one. The nice thing about PN is that it is encouraging me to dust off some 'old' stuff that few people have seen before as I continue to shoot new stuff.

Thanks again for the comment and rating.

This is so beautiful!! I can see the waves on the water! The detail is remarkable and the golden tones are sweet! Very very nice!

Really beautiful photograph Tony. This looks like somewhere far away and the colors are awesome.

Tony,

I believe this is the very first picture of a sunset I have ever seen taken from the air. I must commend you for all of your collection. It is most impressive.

I also must comment who ever was responsible for cleaning the windows of the aircraft you were in. HA HA

Terrific stuff,

Keep up the great work. Thanks so much for taking the time to rate my work as well.

Thanks for your ratings and comments.

David: I have other 'air-borne' sunset shots but none this dramatic. As I indicated before, I was lucky: time of day, seat position on the plane, clean windows, etc. Metering: I tend to try and avoid the glaring sun and meter off the clouds. After I have settled in my seat on the plane, I usually get my camera ready for any opportunities and was in a good position to capture this when I saw it.

My flight suit and I have seen the sun from the sky many times but I truly like the way you captured this. Very well done.
