I do think your correct however. There was a breeze blowing his feathers so that's why the soft look.

I'm still looking at photo comparisons on the net with many different reviews. Mostly the D2Xs against Canon. My Nikon does a great job with macro but that's where it does it's best work.

I'll still stick to my Olympus, I think :-) Camera aside, the bird itself is lovely, its blue eyes & beaks sweet. Bg a slight distraction, though.
