Pierre Dumas 286 Posted May 12, 2007 I adore Spanish music and culture, that is, but also the colors, the composition, the mood and even the stroke and the frames! The only thing that bothers me are the jaggies (they call tyhem here noise). I forgive you the jaggies Linda for I'm celebrating today! Talking of my celebration, may I have the honor to invite you on the celebration of my first anniversary?! http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=5455489&size=lg Tuxedo isn't obligatory! Thank you in advance for coming! PDE Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted May 12, 2007 Linda, This is a phenomenal composition--bright, lively, colorful, well-composed. Might I suggest that you include a statement to view larger so viewers will notice that what appears as noise in the small version is actually a stipling effect. Link to comment
Mike Gallo 0 Posted May 16, 2007 This is great Linda, I love how the guitar player is out of the frame Link to comment
stupski 0 Posted June 16, 2007 This is a masterpiece. I did go to look at the larger version, and not sure if you painted over an original photograph, or if this was done completely as a painting. In any case, the graphic design element is simply outstanding. That long dark vertical of the gown, surrounded by those beautiful reds and golds and pattern is so beautiful, reminiscent to me of Vuillard, though less dependent on pattern. I have a good idea of what it takes to do a work like this, and you have a LOT of talent - and patience! I've not seen anything on this site that comes close to what you accomplished here, and it keeps completely in tune with the drama of the Spanish spirit. Very very well done. (Love the hat at the bottom). Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted June 19, 2007 Thank you so much for your kind words. This is a photo that I took in Edmonton, Alberta, at a Canada Day Celebration. In Canada we like to celebrate multi-culturalism, these are some Spanish/Canadain performers. I edited it in Photoshop quite a bit. I gave it the watercolour effect. I have a background in graphic art, so this one, I believe, really shows that. Thanks again. I am flattered to hear that you like my work. Best Regards, Linda Link to comment
