cherlyn 1 Posted May 10, 2007 I guess you are experimenting with DOF lately. This is my favorite among your 3 latest image. I like the "swing' composition & the selective sharpness caused by the DOF. Link to comment
andrea allison 0 Posted May 10, 2007 I really like your composition. Focus and light is lovely. Dof and background is great. I really like the dark rectangle center framed by the lighter, brings out your subject well. I really like this Dave. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted May 12, 2007 I like the DOF and the composition. I kinda wish the shadow on the large flower and the white spot immediately behind the flower were not there. Nice detail on this fuzzy flower. I wonder how that white halo got there. Its really quite intriguing. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted May 12, 2007 Just as a matter of curiosity, I was following the forum posts of a friend, and saw this interesting bit about compression with the D200 Not that I know anything about Nikons. :) Link to comment

dave_dube 10 Posted May 12, 2007 Thanks to all that have taken the time to comment.Maggie and Andrea, the background is an opening in a lattice fence behind the flowers. I'd like it a little more to the viewers right. The bright area is caused by the grain of the cedar on that slat, it's closed and facing up, light is being reflected off of the closed grain.Maggie, the halo you make reference too is a background flower behind the dominant foreground flower.I'm having trouble getting a handle on what kelvin to post my photos. I have one device with WinXP and another with Vista. Also, the white point is set a little different between the two. Here's a version adjusted on Vista, thoughts? Link to comment
jeverz 0 Posted May 12, 2007 Just beautiful; you made an interesting photo of a simple plant! (thanks for your comment Dave.) Link to comment
andrea allison 0 Posted May 13, 2007 Hi Dave. I like the first version best. The vista version has this yellowish hue that I think is a bit to over powering. For myself what I see on my monitor , the first is lovely. Link to comment
dave_dube 10 Posted May 13, 2007 Thanks Andrea, I really appreciate your return and the view between the two versions. This has really helped. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted May 13, 2007 I like the original best also. Not fond of the yellowish hue either, despite all your work. Link to comment
