davidmccracken 2 Posted May 9, 2007 It was a well known fact that David liked posing girls in his shirts, given that they look better in them than he does. However he didn't know what to do when 2 of his models chose the same shirt. Just a bit of fun. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
shambrick007 0 Posted May 10, 2007 Makes me wish I'd hired models during my stays in HKG. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 10, 2007 What's interesting to me about this one is this: I've seen similar shots, and shots of two girls in the same pair of trousers...but in the two-girls-in-a-shirt shots, the open part of the shirt is to the front. So this is a different take on that, and for that reason it works. It's good b&w stuff as well...and it's a fun shot. I like the different expressions on their faces, and you've got excellent separation between the hair and the background...something I often fail to do when shooting on a darker backdrop. davidmccracken 2 Posted May 10, 2007 Sheldon, There are no end of girls in Hong Kong that want to be hired. However, most of them just want to sit and look pretty. For what it is worth, I never hire models. Hong Kong is such a busy place with so many people on the street, I find it easy just to ask them if they like / want to be photographed. Some say yes. Most say no. Thanks for stopping by. Jim, A kind comment from a B&W master like yourself is very humbling. I like this image myself for the sense of fun. The models were a bit bemused by what I was trying to do and so I thought the shot would be awful. Link to comment
eimages 0 Posted May 10, 2007 Very nice black and white, wonderful details again. They look like they are having fun, which speaks highly of the photographer. Alex Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 10, 2007 Thanks for the comment Alex. It is rare for me to post a photograph so soon after taking it. This was taken less than an hour after meeting them both. They are both naturals. I am only the guy that pressed the button... call me lucky if you will. I certainly feel lucky. Link to comment
syalphotography 0 Posted May 11, 2007 Great image and tones of B&W, David!! Thanks for your kind visit! Best regards! Link to comment

owen_omeara 1 Posted May 12, 2007 Great fun indeed. I agree with Jim that you did a fantastic job of separating the hair from the background, something I am rarely able to do. The models seem relaxed and, as noted, having a good time. I wish I had the good fortune of having beautiful women trying to get in my shirts. -Cheers Link to comment
jim hayes 0 Posted May 12, 2007 One of the common bonds of all the really great photographers of females here at photo.net is the facial expressions they all seem to get. Since David usually does his own brand of humor in his shots, I am sure that getting that "look" is particularly difficult at times. That being said, I have to figure these two could have captured the photographer and if the shoot lasted much longer, they would be posting pictures of David. I have a feeling (hope in reality) that we will be seeing more of these two. They appear as fun, as they are beautiful. Great work by all three of you. JH Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 13, 2007 Owen, I firmly believe that if the model has personality and they can communicate with the guy holding the camera, it is easy to get a good shot. This pair were a delight. Getting two girls into my shirt is easy Owen. Getting one to iron the thing... now that's the challenge. Jim, Your words are kind but I do think you need professional help at the mere suggestion of anyone taking photographs of me and posting them on this site. That said, Alex Lee did it and so perhaps he needs help too. Your point about capturing the facial expression is very valid. In truth, it doesn't always happen. See here! Since meeting these two together, I have worked with the girl on the right again. I may even take more photographs of her later this week. I also hope to photograph the girl on the left sometime soon too. I am sure I will be posting more Jim. Thanks for your encouragement. Link to comment
