I think there are two things one must look at in a portrait. The first and mosty important is what message it conveys. After that, one can look at the details such as lighting etc as well as the rest. You have captured a wonderful personality here, and for that my rating is a 7. As regards, the lighting though and features outlined in her profile, I find the direction of the light a little too frontal (and from below?), not allowing for the natural expression to be outlined clearly in the features, and so it falls to a 5. Dark hair I know also is impossible to photograph. I have a model whose hair comes out pitch black or blue in pure sunlight, there is nothing to be done. Overall, a very pleasant and charismatic portrait, which is why I have spent so much time contemplating it. Thank you.

Thanks to all for the comments. John you are right with the critique about the lighting: the girl was under the blue tent and the light come from below, reflected by the ground. Right again: the picture not do justice to her wonderful hair.
