This is a powerhouse photo. Unbelievably dramatic, exceptionally composed, intensely meaningful and thought-provoking!

A barren landscape, a threatening sky, boats in the sand - almost a doomsday prediction. This image really stands out in a crowd. Great composition and wonderful light. Love it! :)

This is a beautiful image. I love the clarity in the color of the sand as well as the mood of the clouds. Very well done! Katherine

buuuurn!

Nice pic, but it's not really natural. The boundaries between digital art and photography are getting thinner and thinner and most people don't seem to notice...

It's a nice photo but also a good example of how much Photoshop changes people's experience of how "dramatic" or "powerful" a photo is. Basically it's some kids on a boat with dramatic clouds, well captured, then it has heavy false vignetting, flase colors, and heavy temperature change. Not that this isn't very typical for Photo.net. I don't care for it. I think it's ruined an otherwise nice photograph.

The above commenter is exactly right. People critique this and say "amazing light." People have lost sense of the basics of reality versus computer effects.

I hate to agree with the above comment because I really like this image.  I wish for more detail and less dark to distinguish the children.  For me it appears that the landscape takes over, and is too powerful.  Is this about the children in the boat, or about the environment they are in?  I feel like its a toss up as to what the focus or subject is and I think the pp here is not helping.
