This is not meant to look nice but hopefully it is nicer than it looks.

This is not quite what I set out to take. However, this was not entirely without inspiration.

Feedback appreciated.

I think the idea is good, but the model looks emotionless. was that the intention? Maybe scared or in pain might have been better. I'm not sure. The lighting I do like. If the arm had been in focus, or had it showed some motion bur instead that would have been nice too.

That's pretty F'd up McCracken. But as you say...It happens. It is a powerful reminder that this kind of shit goes on behind closed doors. I agree that she doesn't have the typical look that would give this a more powerful impact (No pun intended). Interesting though...the more I look at her, the more her look seems to be of one that says..."Here we go again. Just get it over with." -Anthony

Mark, Confirming your idea that the idea is good, if I had wanted to do it right, I would have used make up and fake blood. The photo as it stands is more symbolic than factual. Personally, I wouldn't say the model is emotionless. Note the half shut right eye. Maybe more emotion would have been good but when I posted a picture of a girl comitting suicide, the picture was removed and I received an email advising me that any more photographs like that and I would have my portfolio removed. Maybe if I hadn't given the photograph the title I have, your comment may have been different.

Your point about the focus on the hand is valid although I am not so sure the motion blur would have been a good idea.

Thanks for stopping by.

Anthony, Much of what I said to Mark applies to you. One point I will pick up on though is that unfortunately I am sure you are right. There are women who probably sit back and say, "Get on with it."
