Leaves coming out in spring. I worked for a light, delicate, Asian

look. Your comments?

I think you achieved your objective very admirably, and I'm so glad you have the background trees at the bottom. Nice try on the frame, but I agree with the others...the image would be enhanced without it.

I like it because it is a color of spring, enhancing the green and white of the new leaves and flowers, blending softly and well into the background colors of the picture. I suspect you may have experimented it with it both ways, and found the color added much to the Asian theme as well as the spring theme of the photo. By the way, this has been on my list of highest rated pictures well before I read the commentaries. And also, I am generally not a frame fan, FYI, though, for me, this composition is quite delicate, gentle, and quite lovely. Best, Valerie

You achieved the Asian look. The shot of the tree with the others in the foggy background is a nice shot and your post processing of the image is effective.

However, I don't think the image would have a fraction of the appeal had you not used that border. Very smart the way the sky has a faint coloration from the border. The border really enhances this photo, it caps off the plain sky at the top, brings up the bottom gradient colors of the background and your color selection adds a soft springtime bloom impression that is lacking with the white blooms on the tree.

Thanks for you comments here and on the other shots you commented on. In this shot, the tree had no blooms, it was just starting to leaf out. The blooms, I'm not sure I've seen blooms on this tree. It's a cottonwood.

Oh, looking on my monitor, they looked like little Dogwood blooms, I didn't correlate the title. I still like the border and the pale magenta sky. It looks even better on my monitor here at home. I'll bet this makes a gorgeous print.
