Mohan- to make such pictures I use a macro lens wide open (at f 2.8). Then the DOF is very shallow, and flowers in the background have a 'ghosty' look. In this picture I also had a bit of counter light which makes the petals in the background look more transparent. But actually its all about trying out- you just open your lens, get close to the flowers and search for an interesting composition. Its a lot of fun! So, good light and have a lot of fun while shooting!

I seldom open my lens till to F2.8. Mabye I should do it more in future. I love these type of dreamy softness.
