My friend (kneeling) invited me to attend the burial of some two

hundred cremains of indigent persons who had died, and had no family

or friends to bury them. Pretty sad, but at least they had a small

audience for their burial and a little music.

Nice composition. I like swoopy framing, emphasized by the wide-angle lens distortion. I like the interplay of near and far. The picture works edge to edge.

Yes from dust to dust...realising that should put us all in the humble state....I like the PoV and the composition with framing elements...not an easy topic (at least for me as I would have trouble shooting in such circumstance) but you cover it well and respectfully...thanks for sharing a different theme (not usual in PN)...

As you well know, I try to find things that are "different" or to do different things. I thought there was a certain poignancy here, but maybe it was because of the story behind it. I can tell you this, the Potter's Field Graveyard was nothing but a big patch of bare earth with a few stones for markers. Not that it makes any difference to the dead, but it seems awfully sad to me, the living. And all these people who didn't have family or friends to even bury them. Now that's sad. Very sad.

Wow. With this shot..you (the photographer)seems seperated from the event. Like on the outside looking in. A very lonley feeling. Not to wax poetic, but even the leaf-less and bare trees on the outside of the back fence gives that same feeling of seperation from the rest. It is deep on many levels David. Somewhat haunting even. Kudos Boss. Kudos indeed.

Thanks Shane. In contrast to the other one that you just commented upon, this one was not very well received. Well, you can't win them all.
