One of the greenest places on Earth, Oregon's Columbia Gorge. Home to

countless streams and waterfalls.

Sweet shot. Exposure is about perfect. I love the triangle created by the stream extending to the corners of the frame. I might prefer just a bit more of the centered rock in the frame so as to be not cut off like it is, but only if it did not affect the lines coming out of the corners. The green colors here are pretty accurate. Beautiful work.

Right about that, Daniel. No more of that rock available without introducing other distractions.

That doesn't surprise me. Finding an orderly composition in most Northwest streams takes a lot of work.

I am a sucker for nicely blurred moving water and this one is fantastic. The color saturation and depth of field is superb. I actually like that the foreground center rock is slightly cut off. It grounds the image andprovides and anchor. Superb!

Marc, the textures and details in your photo are superb, as always. Is your sharpening technique that you use for these web postings also applicable to large prints (e.g., 11x17 or larger), or do you have to use a more traditional sharpening process?

What's so amazing about this image is it looks so real. It has a 3D quality to it. I almost feel like I could reach out and touch that rock in the foreground.

Really beautiful shot with intresting DOF and also blured water.

Marc, as you said shutter speed depends on many variables like focal lenth and the camera's proximity to the water.could explain about these to things please?

How focal lenght and the camera's proximity to the water effect on choosing right shutter speed?

Good luck

The amount of depth I see in this photo is simply spectacular. So many elements you used in your comp to do this...the stream, the long exposure, the canyon, the fallen trees, and for me I think the depth is accentuated even more by the foreground shadows which just pull my eyes in. It all comes together in this. Superb shot as usual.
