robsteriography 0 Posted April 29, 2007 Awesome scenery..is this Canada?...The composition and wide crop is fantastic..could do with a levels boost and remove a couple of dust spots..getting picky I know..Nevertheless..a beautiful shot..rgs, Rob. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted April 29, 2007 I think this image is reverse; those peaks on the right should be on the left. Link to comment
bertr 0 Posted April 29, 2007 Okay! Who moved them...Put them back where they belong... No, joking aside. I think you may be right. It probably happened in the scanning process. Sorry about that. Bert. Link to comment

whydangle 0 Posted April 30, 2007 Hi Bert. I am familiar with this scenery. It is flopped which does not detract from the beauty of the scene. The correct name is Saint Marys Lake in Glacier National Park. I will say that I can't give you high marks for originality because this is a roadside view and this appears to be a cloudless day with not very interesting light quality. It is however probably one of the most awe-inspiring scenes in the contiguous United States. You were lucky to catch this one on a still day which made for a perfect reflection. Therefore I feel it is deserving of a higher mark for aesthetics. Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
bertr 0 Posted April 30, 2007 You are absolutely correct, Mark. I checked the original slide and the side reverse happened during scanning. You are also correct in saying that this is a "road side" shot. We drove through this park at the end of a 3 week camping tour which started in Jasper, Alberta and took us all the way down to Las Vegas and back. You can imagine that we saw some pretty spectacular country. Thanks for your kind comments. Please have a look at some of the rest of my portfolio. Bert Link to comment

ffrank 0 Posted April 30, 2007 I've never seen St. Mary's Lake so calm. Great shot, nice reflection. Link to comment
arnabbanerjee 0 Posted May 1, 2007 Great scene but light and composition don't impress me here. I am also surprised that you did not notice that the peaks are flipped during the scan - dont take it personally, but it probably indicates how much thought was given for this composition. Overall, it's a postcard view under an ordinary light - 4/3 for me Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted June 4, 2007 It is a beautiful scene, Bert. And it is actually better flopped, in terms of lines and balance. There is a slight tilt, and a bit of + Gamma brings the lighting back to what it was when you shot it. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted September 5, 2007 A lovely landscape with cool colours & reflection. Link to comment
