aamir567 0 Posted April 29, 2007 Dear Umair Ghani ! Nice picture and brilliant colors . . . I like it . . . I m still astonished and can't help myself what made u write such comments to me . . . I may tell u that whatever i commented on ur pics was just spontaneous n I didn't intend to put down or offend u . . . The Trango Tower pic was looking over saturated and colors too bright . . so i wrote it . . . the colors of this pic of Badshahi mosque women are looking brilliant . . so i wrote it . . . Dear Umair, Oscar Wilde said "Bad artists always admire each other's work" . . . its so easy u know . . . and also sounds good . . . u made nice comments abt my pics . . . i appreciate it, if u will criticize on one, i will surely accept it and think abt it . . . I hear a lot of admiration for my pictures but i keenly hear when someone criticizes or points out flaws . . . may be u r only used to hear admiration and u took a small criticized note as 'personal attack' . . . but there's also a saying by Federico Mayor "Critical remarks are only made by people who love you". . . So, I want to be a good friend of you. Aamir Rashid Link to comment
awaraagard 0 Posted April 30, 2007 dear amir rasheed, im grateful again for ur visit to my portfolio. u mention Wilde & his comments, "bad artist always admire each other", i totally disagree with this. when u grow up as an artist, u must learn 2 trust a COMPLIMENT. the other part i agree that we must not be concerned with admiration only. ppl drop lots of 2's & 3's on my pics, but i never care, bcz i never offer my pics for 7's & 6's. its an open forum & ppl can comment & rate whatever they find approperiate. my concern is that when u admire or criticise, u must b qualified 2 do that in the first place. u mentioned unusual colors/ over saturated colors of Trango Tower. i guess u never been 2 Baltoro glacier, which happens 2 b the toughest mountain trek. well, if u visit there, u'll find the fact that Trango massif & cathedral peaks r giant rock walls of granite, that sparkle & shimmer as the sun strikes them. besides, colors can look different on different monitor screens. that's why i politely suggested that u should caliberate monitor before commenting on color adjustments & mentioned a device called X Rite for this purpose as well. if that hurt u in any way, i sincerely apologize. it is never my aim 2 discourage any artist. " art is life, it must flourish!". best regards! Link to comment
