Just thought this would make a nice shot with it being there all

alone. I am trying to get better, so please send me some feedback. I

am not even in the same league as most of you, but my goal on this

site is be a person of interest to one of you. Not for sake of being

one, but that my work will spark enough interest to warrant such a

title.

Hi Bruce. Sometimes I hesitate to give advice because there are so many better photographers than me, but here are my thoughts. The idea was good. This could be a really nice image if it was not so soft (more focused), in this case, from the front to the back of the flower and perhaps recomposed from the left to get more of the green background. I'm afraid if you cropped the top it would take away too much 'headroom'. BTW, you will hear DOF again and again, and many opinions on it. I think this is a case though where you need more depth on the flower while still preserving the unfocused background. Happy shooting!
